The Roosevelt Ale House is an austere but friendly, comfortable, and reasonably large neighborhood pub in Seattle's Maple Leaf neighborhood (and located near the highest point within the city limits). Out front on the sidewalk are two outdoor seating areas flanking the entrance. They’re bounded by an attractive fence made of warm, light-colored wood and tile, and are almost entirely sheltered by the overhanging roof. Inside is a large room with concrete floors and a tall black ceiling. On the left is a pool table area lined with tall tables with bar stools. In the center is a family-friendly dining area with a few tall tables with bar stools and a few normal height tables and chairs. On the right is the bar area, divided from the dining area by a stand-up narrow beer shelf. Next to the bar along the front windows are a few more tall tables with bar stools. The bar itself is L-shaped, topped by a lovely warm polished-wood surface, and lined with tall chairs. The bar back is wooden shelving stocked with liquor bottles. A nice collection of brewery-logo’d mirrors and metal signs hang on the walls for decoration. Lighting is mid-century in style - hanging lamps over the front tables and wall sconces on the interior walls. The front wall is almost entirely composed of large west-facing windows. In the bar and in the center section there are three large screen TVs showing sports but with the sound off.

There are seven rotating taps with a quite respectable selection of craft beers as well as four standard beers (Manny’s, Rainier, Boddington’s and Guiness), and a large, wide-ranging selection of bottled beers.

Food selection is an upscale pub variety. The tomatillo pork sandwiches with caesar salad we had were excellent.
