One the best beer bars in L.A., period. The Goat carries one the most eclectic, Belgian leaning, selections of hard to find draft beers around.
The bar is dark and simple, yet inviting. And they play cool movies at the bar.
They have a toilet, too!
Not much else a beer aficionado needs, right?

Parking can be troublesome so taking a taxi can help get your lips on tasty pint quicker and in a better mood.

The Surly Goat has a fantastic beer selection all with proper glasses. They have 24 beers on tap and around 45 different beer in bottles, some quite rare and nice collectors items. The one down side is there is no bar food, so clearing the palate when going from one beer to the next can be a pain.

Everything is ordered at the bar, and sometimes if it's packed the service can be a bit slow. From what i have heard it gets quite full on the weekends and there is a dress code. They do have cocktails as well, but no wine that I could see.

This is definitely a beer geeks dream, but it's not the sort of place that you could take people who can't appreciate a very very wide selection of very different beers.
