I travel up to Boston and NH somewhat frequently and I found this place on a "brewery" search via Google.

Wow this was a good place.

Bartender really knew his stuff - know the beers, knew the styles. I hate going to brewpubs where the staff doesn't know any more than to say "it taste like Guinness".

The Gestalt Alt was easily the best Alt I've ever had - just the fact that this was on tap was amazing, but this was a great example - won gold at GABF in 2010.

The also had a Barleywine on tap, though I didn't try it - lots of selection, lots of good beers. They sell sixers and bombers to go.

The bar is great, feels old but in a good way - very comfortable, very warm. It even came with an opinionated, but friendly New Englander who talked about Ireland, the Patriots and all of the good "bee-ya" that they serve.

Make the trip and get out to this place.

I was very pleased with my recent outing to the Tap. The place came highly recommended by some Haverhill locals and it did not disappoint.

Oddly, even though Haverhill is a relatively small town, parking and maneuvering around the area can be a bit challenging, but the place is well worth the frustration.

The beer selection was fantastic. Its clear from the menu, from the wait staff, and from the overall atmosphere that they enjoy making good beer and they have fun with it.

I would easily go back and would recommend it to anyone who is ever in the area (Haverhill is probably only about an hour from Boston).
