Wow. I need to leave a review on this one just to up the rating, as the first reviewer has totally skewed the score, and hasn't even been to the brewery (lame). Yeah their beer isn't across the boardamazing, but it's pretty damn good, and the Larry DIPA is a big ballsy beer that will knock you out quick. The taproom is simple, the service is friendly and it feels like a fairly typical small town new england brewery. Green Monsta is good too, but the Larry is really my top choice here. Also they have kick ass pewter handled, swing top glass growlers as well as double walled hydro flask growlers for winter or summer outdoor use.

Wachusett's Country ale is good and reliable, and their Larry IPA is also good. Wachusett IPA and Nut Brown ale are nothing special, but aren't bad either. Their blueberry beer is quite good (I'm not usually a huge fan of fruity beers). Andy Crouch rated it in his top examples of blueberry beer. Their standout beer, to me, is their Octoberfest. It is one of my favorites (at least in the top 3 I've had, for American-style Octoberfests). Occasionally they make a milk stout that is also pretty good. I haven't been to the brewery, just had their beer on tap or bottled. Overall, Wachusett is a solid but not spectacular brewery (and their Octoberfest is awesome).

The previous reviewer is quite mistaken, IMHO- yes the beers here are not top-shelf, but many are eminently drinkable. Took the tour, it was short but pretty good. The best beer is the Larry DIPA, but the IPA, Green Monsta and Ryde are all decent. The California IPA was not available on draft, so bought a bomber. The store has most of their non-seasonal beers for sale in bottle as well as growlers for the draft beer- plus a fair selection of merchandise. Overall it was a nice experience.

I have never been to the brewery or restaurant (if they have one) so my ratings on those do not apply. I have had several of their beers off the shelf. Every one of them is horrid, awful beer.

The blueberry ale is way too sweet, it is undrinkable. The only people I have met who like it are young women who typically don't drink beer. Go figure. Breweries are going overboard with the flavoring and Wachusset is a prime example of this.

Their nut brown tastes nutty and brown. Sounds delicious huh? It isn't.

Their Oktoberfest is too malty, but to their credit, I haven't found an Oktoberfest that I have liked.

Haven't tied their porter and I don't want to.

Their IPA is nothing special. Why buy that when you have Harpoon, Ipswich and Redhook IPA available in the area?
