I had a little bit of trouble finding the place, because when I drove by I only saw "Umami Burger". After circling the block a few times to find a parking space (there are a few nearby parking lots but all were full on a Tuesday evening), I walked around and realized that the brewery tasting room is the side entrance to the Umami Burger building.

I sat down just before last call (they close at 9pm on most days) and got the sampler of 5 beers (everything except the Gold) for $11, which comes with a free tasting glass to bring home. Note: They won't let you upgrade to a pint glass even though they sell both for $3, but $3 for a pint glass is a great deal.

The wait staff was really friendly, and knew a lot about the beer they served. I tried the Hefeweizen, Red, 1888, Oktoberfest, Oatmeal Stout, and the Coast to Coast IPA. I typically like reds best, but the Red had an odd roast flavor. The Hefeweizen was quite good with a strong banana and clove flavor. The 1888, their flagship beer, was good. My favorite was the IPA, which wasn't overly hoppy and relatively easy to drink for a 7% beer.
