Great little place worth a detour in Marin county. Apparently George Lucas hangs out here...

Music was eclectic and soulful, heard the classic "Be Thankful for What You Got" by William DeVaughn segue into bluegrass, then into some classic rock. Decor was clean and sort of colorful in a southwest palette, with murals of rolling hills and hop bines in the dining room. Little Jerry Garcias were hiding around the place. Bar side was to the left, modern industrial bar back, with windows exposing the brewing equipment behind the bar.

A good variety of house styles here, was glad to see a wet-hop harvest ale, as it was that time of year. Also an IPA, DIPA, Stout, Rye, Kölsch, Coffee Porter, Hefe, Okto, Schwarzbier, "Alsatian Pale", Amber, and a handful of others. Had a 2nd pint of the JC Flyer IPA, which was the standout favorite.

Bartender was super nice and explained their beer lineup, and came by with free swag when he heard it was our first time in. Also offered a couple samples of drafts to help decide on a beer. Overall a very laid back, friendly brewpub with a good number of locals supporting the place.

We took the drive out there just for the beer, didn't try any food. The sampler consisted of:
Pilsner: Reminded me of a Pacifico or Corona
Kolsch: Better than the Pilsner
Scotch ale: Good smell, not too sweet, decent beer.
Coco Brown: Seemed more like a coffe, we didn't like the finish or the mouth feel on this one though.
Stout: This was alright, regular stout, chocolaty aftertaste.
Coffee Porter: This was good, but it seemed more like a coffee stout, just a little less sweet.

We were pretty far into our beer trip by the time we came here so everything kinda of blended together.

The place kind of reminded me of an old Denny's type of diner from what I remember.

Danscott hit the nail on the head. This is a bit of a drive from the freeway but it’s worth it. Nice size bar and tall counter seating area in front of a window into the brew room. The adjacent dining room has several booths and lots of table seating plus outdoor seating along the sidewalk . There were more than a dozen taps open when I visited and it is Barrel Aged Beer Month so they had some special brews available. In addition their own Scotch Bourbon they offered Marin’s Makers and Coke (Belgian Quadrupel aged for 2.5 years). They have a great selection of outstanding house beers so they don’t usually have a guest tap but during the 4th week, they will also offer Lyon’s Barrel Aged Bourbon Stout (Moylans) along with their own Bourbon Sless Stimulating Stout. I didn’t get a chance to stay for dinner but the menu and specials looked great and I will definitely return for a food related tasting session.

I am a huge fan of this place, definitely the best kept secret of the Bay Area brewpubs. Very Marin, in a good way, unless you don't like Marin. Deadheads. Awesome music, but I am biased.

10-12 beers on tap, all are brewed very well in style and in a wide range. Great makers of European lagers, see what they have. These guys had a sticke alt last time I was there, hell yeah! Bonus points for tackling that one. Delicious rye, great DIPA, really nice cream stout, but all the beer is great.

Good menu, nice range of pub and restaurant food, great produce.
