Stopped in here today on a tip from salfordtedd74...

From the outside it doesn't really look like much. Older building, Miller Lite cases stacked in the window. Inside it's very much your aging 70's era liquor store, linoleum and flourescent lighting, with checkouts obscuring the beer selection around the left corner. Pass through the checkout area, and to the left there were 6 shelves of quality beers, plus many more in the coolers.

Focus was mainly on US craft beer, namely a full line of Founders (8 varieties) and FFF (10 varieties). I noticed fresh new seasonals, such as Two Hearted mini-kegs, and Alpha Klaus. There were some Dark Horse seasonals as well, like Double Crooked Tree (last years batch). 2 Metropolitan sixers were labeled with a handwritten note to "support local beer!". Nice! Some craft was in the cooler but the majority was on the shelves. Noticed Blackheart and Chimay & Lindemans gift packs up on a shelf by the registers. Import wise, there were standard Belgians including Chouffe and Cuvee René.

As we were heading out to pay, a staff guy stopped to compliment our selections, and chat beer for awhile. He mentioned that they do get the allocated/limited beers now and then, and was helpful and friendly. Checkout was fast, and the checkout girl mentioned her affinity for 2 Hearted too...

This place was totally not what I expected from the outside. Worth a look if you're south of the Eisenhower in Forest Park. Yes there are 2 locations, but they both carry quality craft beer. Don't judge a book by it's cover!
