This is the original pub in the McMenamins chain, though one that has never brewed its own. It is supplied by the Hillsdale Pub, which turns out decent beers and occasionally sends over an interesting seasonal.

Good service for a McMenamins pub -- meaning that the staff is happy and friendly instead of seething under bad management and taking it out on the clientele (see Market Street Pub). Food orders can be a little slow if a big crowd gets their order in before you.

It's a neighborhood place with a family atmosphere -- your little kids and your grandma will be equally comfortable here. Especially if your grandma listens to the Grateful Dead.
