Jupiter is a great place to grab a brew before Cal Football games. They open early to accommodate fans on game days, and provide terrific food, too. The atmosphere builds in excitement as fans of both teams start pouring in. The beer is fresh, and the service is much better than usual for Berkeley.

Their best beers are their IPA, their double IPA (Quasar), and Red Spot. All will be favorites of hopheads. Jupiter sports a very wide variety of guest brews, mostly from local brewers, often brewers not frequently poured.

The building was nice. There was a good selection of guest beers, but we were expecting things we didn't get at home (we are from Chicago area). Most of what they had that they didn't brew there we could get at home.

They didn't have a sampler of their beers, which I can never understand why they wouldn't, but they did give samples of whatever you wanted.
The dry stout nitro dispensed was not very complex, but had a good chocolaty flavor. The Hef and Amber were ok. The honey wheat seemed weak, but that also seemed to be their most advertised beer (all the coasters had the honey wheat logo.

I tried the spinach artichoke dip, the price was cheap, but there wasn't much of it. I didn't get any artichoke taste, but the green color did resemble spinach. The taste was kinda heavy on the onion, I wouldn't get it again. It was a nice building, but we weren't fans of this place.

Jupiter has a nice pub feel with a beer garden out back and a good selection of both house and guest brews. There is a long bar area inside and nearly 40 taps with some tall tables and additional tables in the adjacent room. When we visited, we sat on the sunny patio and I enjoyed a Red Spot, their flagship brew. Tried for a Uncle Fudds Rye from Moonlight but the keg had blown so I went with a Jupiter Quasar (DIPA). The menu looked interesting (pizza and sandwiches with astro names) but we had just eaten. Parking is usually difficult but BART in just outside the front door; we lucked into a metered spot down the block.

My absolute favorite place to get a pint. Jupiter has an immense selection of draft beers. 10+ house brews and about 20 more microbrews. All house brews are poured in 20oz imperial pint glasses for $4.25. They serve pizza, sandwiches, and salads that are good at a moderate price. They also have a great atmosphere in an awesome old building with two floors. My favorite spot is the beautiful back patio with umbrellas and a fountain. Theres no better way to spend a lazy afternoon. They even have live music every night save mondays. 21+ after 8pm but a good place to get some food with the family before that. Service is decent but it does get busy sometimes. All in all, Jupiter is an awesome brewpub. If youre in the area stop by for a pint, and if you arent then make the trip. You wont be disappointed.
